The Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) contracted with Brink Constructors to rebuild a 25 year old 69kV transmission line in northern Arizona through the Black Mountains and the Cerbat Mountains, near Kingman AZ. Brink crews had to deal with the heat, environmental concerns (endangered turtles, Bald Eagles and Bighorn Sheep), and cactus preservation to remove 352 wood poles along 27 miles of mountainous terrain. The wood poles were replaced with 155 steel poles.
